Audi Updates Display And Technology Features In Q8 And SQ8 2024

JAKARTA - Since its introduction in 2018, Audi Q8 has looked dashing and elegant to be one of the idol SUVs for automotive fans around the world. To refresh its appearance, this German manufacturer released an update to this popular SUV at the IAA Mobility Munich 2023 exhibition which is currently underway.

Audi has made a number of changes to the Q8 model and its highest variant, SQ8, as part of the 2024 model. The changes cover the exterior and interior of the vehicle.

Quoted from the company's release, Tuesday, September 5, the changes to the front include the use of the single-frame grip which now has eight-sided elements for Q8 and SQ8. The front air channel also gets a redesign to optimize vehicle performance in terms of aerodynamics.

Like other recent Audi models, Q8 is also now equipped with advanced HD Matrix headlights, including the High Beam laser beam which will be automatically activated when the vehicle reaches 70 km/hour.

Audi also put the OLED technology light on the back, similar to the A8 and Q5 models. The novelty of this illumination is when there is a vehicle behind Q8 within 2 meters, all OLED elements in this SUV will be automatically active, ensuring this vehicle is clearly visible.

In addition, for the first time third-party apps are also now available. Customers can download Spotify or Amazon Music, and Audi says there will be regular software updates that will expand the range of apps available. The virtual cockpit view now includes lane change alerts, other road users alerts, distance warnings, help at intersections, and traffic light information in full HD quality.

Although some of its rivals have presented cars with hybrid technology, Audi remains loyal and relies on conventional combustion engines, namely diesel and gasoline for Q8.

Audi Q8 2024 offers three different machine options with the highest variant being Audi Q8 55 TFSI (turbocharged gasoline engine) 3.0 liters Otto Cycle which produces up to 340 PS of power and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. With its power, Audi Q8 55 TFSI can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour within 5.6 seconds, with the highest speed limited to 250 km/hour.

Meanwhile, Audi SQ8 uses a 4.0 liter gasoline twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the same as the one used in Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Lamborghini Manage. With 507 PS power and 770 Nm torque, Audi SQ8 is capable of accelerating 0 to 100 km/hour within 4.1 seconds but the highest speed is also limited to 250 km/hour.

In Germany, Audi Q8 2024 is offered from 86,700 euros or around Rp1,422 billion to 89,900 euros or around Rp1,475 billion. Meanwhile, Audi SQ8 is priced at 119,500 euros or around Rp1.961 billion. Both variants will be available on the European market by the end of this month.
