JAKARTA - Recently, the luxury electric car manufacturer (EV) from the United States, Fisker Inc, introduced its newest products including the lower middle segment to deal with the increasingly fierce competition in the electric car industry.

In the Production Vision event held in California, USA, Fisker showcased four publicly known models, such as the Ocean SUV, GT Ronin's car, and the Alaskan pickup. However, not only that, attention is also focused on the city car model that attracts electric car fans.

This car is named Fisker Peak, a hatchback vehicle specifically designed for urban mobility. The name "Pear" stands for "Personal Electric Automotive Revolution" which carries the spirit of the private electric automotive revolution.

With this concept, Fisker Peak is here to meet daily mobility needs at affordable prices. Fisker, which is a start-up company in the automotive industry, designed Pear by considering production costs to present competitive prices.

Henrik Fisker, CEO and Founder of Fisker Inc, explains thatEAR was created with a view on young motorists who attach importance to lifestyles and designs that are suitable for daily activities.

"We want to design a car that fits the present and future lifestyles," Henrik Fisker said as quoted by Autocar, Friday, August 4.

Fisker Pear has a seating capacity of five to eight people. Despite having a compact dimension, this car still has a cruising range that competes with its competitors.

This hatchback will be available in two battery variants, with the first distance reaching 160 km to 241 km, which is standard for electric cars. While the second variant has a distance of more than 482 km in one charge.

However, Henrik Fisker stated that the first variant is expected to be more in demand by consumers, considering that the majority of drivers do not require very long distances in their daily lives. However, he realized that in the future, consumer perceptions of distance may change as technology develops.

"In the next two years, you'll see that people are starting to realize that a shorter distance is enough. However, maybe not yet the time," added Henrik.

Fisker Peak is scheduled to go on sale in early 2025. The car is designed with a special steel chassis called SLV-1, which provides characterization of sporty maneuvers.

Among the four models on display, Fisker Pear offers a more affordable price, starting at USD 29.900 or around IDR 454.9 million. The price is competing, even cheaper than competitors such as MG4 EVs which are valued at around IDR 649 million and BYD Dolphin at a price of around IDR 490 million.
