JAKARTA - The 2023 Periclindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS), which took place at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, has become a place to prove several electric vehicle manufacturers. Especially for those who are committed to entering the realm of electrification to support the government's program regarding emission-free vehicles.

However, the brands presented are not only from abroad. Rather, one of the national vehicle brands is also present, the National Children's Car (MAB).

In the booths available, MAB displays several electric vehicle models. What catches the attention is the latest electric pickup model, P50E E-Double Cabin.

The pickup is present in the booth area belonging to the MAB with the form of a prototype. However, it is hoped that P50E can be sold officially by the end of 2023.

MAB President Director, Kelik Irwantono, said that the components in this car still came from China. However, his party is trying to talk to several car component manufacturers, including batteries made by domestic manufacturers.

"The components are still from there (China). For batteries, we are talking to one of the battery manufacturers in Indonesia. So the local content weight is quite high," said Kelik during an interview with reporters at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

In terms of design, this electric vehicle looks sturdy which makes it suitable for running on all terrains that are not inferior to several other pickups from competing brands.

However, this P50E E-Double Cabin is intended as a commercial vehicle. This car is ready to deliver goods anywhere to remote areas.

It is known that P50E E-Double Cabin electric vehicles are available in two travel distance options, namely 200 km and 300 km. Although the MAB has not set a price on this pickup, it is estimated that the price will be cheaper than competitors' pickups such as Ford F-150 Lightning.
