Play Doona!, Bae Suzy Admits He Can Retire From The Entertainment Industry

JAKARTA - Bae Suzy is very open to the potential for retirement from the entertainment industry for the future. He is talking about this on the sidelines of promoting his latest series, Doona! which airs on Netflix.

Doona! tells the story of Doona, a former K-pop idol who decides to live in a student dormitory and meets Lee Won Jun, played by actor Yang Se Jong.

Bae Suzy feels there is little in common with his character in the series. Before focusing on becoming an actress, Suzy was one of the members of the K-pop group Miss A under the company JYP Entertainment.

When reading the script, Suzy even felt like something had stabbed her stomach because her character situation was very similar to hers. He also recalled that when he was actively promoting as a K-pop idol, Suzy was used to putting her feelings aside.

"At that time, I didn't realize I was going through a difficult situation," Suzy explained to Yonhap.

Some people think I'm running away, but what I'm really doing is trying not to get carried away with my own feelings. I try to focus on other things," he continued.

Even though my experience is different from Doona, I'm still trying to understand her. In the early 20s I didn't have the opportunity to feel pain or express my emotions like Doona, "he said again.

The 29-year-old actress also revealed that she was open to her desire to retire from the entertainment industry. However, she doesn't think right now is the right time to realize the plan.

"I always talk to myself, I can get out of this business at any time, so the project I'm working on can be my last project," said Suzy.

"That thought motivates me to always do my best at any time," he added.

Doona! series was released on October 20 and became trending on social media. This series is an adaptation of the webtoon of the same name starring Suzy. Like himself in the real world, Suzy also sang and danced to this series.
