Once Detained By Israeli Soldiers At The Palestinian Al-Aqsa Mosque, Fedi Nuril: I'm Not Afraid!

JAKARTA - Palestine and Israel have returned to war since Saturday, October 7, where news has become a topic of discussion around the world from all walks of life, including celebrities. One of the celebrities who has memories of the Palestinian and Israeli war is Fedi Nuril.

Through an upload on his Instagram social media account, Fedi Nuril told his story that was detained by the Israeli army when he wanted to perform a midday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This incident happened in 2014 when he was filming the Ramadan program.

"In 2014, I went to Palestine to shoot a Ramadan program. When I and one of the crew entered the Aqsha Mosque for the midday prayer and took pictures," said Fedi Nuril in an upload on Instagram @fedinuril quoted by VOI, Saturday, October 14.

Fedi said that he was detained because he was seen carrying a tripod and also a wireless mic. He explained that at that time the Israeli soldiers who were holding him were holding a gun. Even so, Fedi admitted that he did not feel afraid.

"I was detained at the entrance gate by the Israeli army because I brought tripods and wireless mics. Surprisingly, even though the soldiers were fully armed, I didn't feel afraid," he continued.

At the end of the story, Fedi hopes that the war that occurs in Palestine and Israel can be over soon. Even so, Fedi openly supports the independence of the Palestinian state.

"I hope that all levels of world society stop politicizing the occupation of Israel in Palestine and actively support Palestinian independence. This is a humanitarian issue," said Fedi Nuril.

"I believe there is not a single ideology in the world that justifies the killings and violence against other humans. It doesn't matter what your religion and beliefs are, how is it possible to kill children being 'ordinary?' Hopefully our brothers, Arab-Palestinian people, in Palestine are always under His protection. Amen," he concluded.
