JAKARTA - Musician Nowela Mikhelia or known as Nowela Idol said the Sah Teluk Cenderawasih (STC) 2023 event was a symbol of tourism existence in Papua. "In my opinion, the symbol of tourism existence in Papua and Biak Numfor Regency is the pioneer," said Nowela in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, October 8. This statement was made by Nowela Idol when she was the organizer of the entertainment stage for the promotion of Sail Teluk Cenderawasih 2023, at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout. The Wamena-blooded singer said he was proud of the holding of the Sail Teluk Cenderawasih event because he could introduce the public that there were so many tourist destinations in Papua that had not yet been touched. Nowela said most of the people she met only knew the Raja Ampat Islands and Cartenz Pyramit as natural-based tourism destinations in Papua. In fact, there are also Biak Numfor districts that have tourist destinations with extraordinary natural beauty; Catalina, Barracuda diving points, Wafsarak waterfall with a height of 200 meters and Cenderawasih Bay National Park. “ Not many people know that many heavens are hidden in Biak, so this event is your chance to visit Biak, Papua, ” he said. Sail Teluk Cenderawasih 2023 was held in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua on November 1-7, 2023, for the initiation of cooperation between the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Papuan Steering Committee and the Biak Numfor Regency Government.
