Sherina 2's Adventure Differences With The First Film

JAKARTA - Sherina 2's Adventure Film will surprise the audience from the story to new characters that have been raised. Many differences are shown in this new film.

"Sherina's adventure film used to be full of music and dance numbers but this story is completely new. We will still meet Sherina and Sadam and it will be special because there are new figures," said Director Riri Riza, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.

In addition to bringing back Sherina Munaf (as Sherina) and Derby Romero (as Sadam) as the main characters, Sherina 2's Adventure film will star in a number of well-known new characters such as Isyana Sarasvati, Randy Danistha, and Quinn Salman.

"There is Randy who will play a new character, then there is Quinn, one of the talented singers. Hopefully, we have a new star who makes this film very fun because the music is special," said Riri.

Riri mengungkapkan lagu-lagu yang akan dihadirkan pada film Adventure Sherina 2 diciptakan oleh Sherina Munaf yang bekerja sama dengan produser Mira Lesmana.

"This time it was Sherina Munaf who made the music directly, the lyrics were still working with Mira Lesmana. So she made her own music, she sang it," said Riri.

Another striking difference is filming the adventure film Sherina 2 which took place in the forest area of Kalimantan with limited road access but according to her it was a pleasant experience.

" Filming in Kalimantan is very interesting, especially because in terms of infrastructure it is very different from Jakarta. Road access, for example, to reach a place we need four to five hours of travel and continue to ride a boat two hours after the trip runs, but that's the pleasure of making a film," said Riri.

He added that to get to the shooting location, the cast and crew walked through the river and forest areas using all existing modes of transportation ranging from cars, motorbikes, to boats.

"We experience everything from riding cars, riding boats, riding motorbikes, adventure in rivers and in the forest, we all experience it," added Riri.

He said the obstacles experienced during the shooting process of "Sherina 2 Adventure" were necessary to estimate the distance and time traveled to the shooting location due to limited road access.

"If there are obstacles, for example, we have to calculate the distance and time if we want to shoot somewhere," added Riri.

He added that the cast must also learn how to ride a boat because there are several scenes taken in the river waters and they also adjust to live life in the forest area of Kalimantan.

"So you have to adjust and it takes time, you need to go back and forth, you need a strong and ready mentality, just fun everything because together," said Riri.

Riri revealed the reason for choosing Kalimantan as the set because the place depicts the concept of the film Adventure Sherina 2 which presents the genre of musical adventure action.

"Actually, because the theme is the musical action adventure film, there is an element of adventure and the song is the most ideal place that has that element," he said.
