The Legal Team Will Ask Ferry Irawan To Serve Sentences Outside Prisons

JAKARTA - Ferry Irawan has been convicted by the Kediri City District Court and has to serve a sentence of 1 year in prison for the Domestic Violence (KDRT) case against Venna Melinda. Even though they have received it, it is known that the family still objected to Ferry's 1 year prison sentence. Moreover, they believe that no domestic violence has been carried out physically. “ If Bang Sunan and I as family lawyers, from the start have said that there is no physical domestic violence. When talking about physical and what Mas Ferry did was not against the law. Therefore, this decision, in our opinion, is very difficult,” said Agustinus Nahak as Ferry Irawan's attorney to the media crew in Senayan City, South Jakarta, Monday, June 5. Furthermore, Nahak suspects that there is engineering in Ferry Irawan's legal process. Like what Hariati said, Ferry Irawan's mother, Nahak again said that Venna had pressured her husband to admit physical violence. "“That's why Ferry's mother and family were very disappointed and also had to go to Surabaya, and there were also pressure in detention which was also carried out by Venna herself who came to introgate, even asking Mas Ferry to convey to the public that he was doing physical violence,” said Nahak. “ It turns out that it is not proven, even in court it is not proven. Supposedly, this decision should go straight home, immediately free, ” he continued. However, it is acknowledged that Ferry Irawan has accepted the decision handed down on him. Thus, no appeals or other legal remedies will be made. Even so, Nahak said that if the legal team would submit a request so that Ferry Irawan could serve the rest of his prison term outside the prison. However, he did not explain what kind of detention would be submitted. “He will serve the remainder of his detention period and the team of lawyers will also apply for Mas Ferry to serve a period of detention outside the prison. Therefore, it is still coordinating with the family, and hopefully it can be accepted that Mas Ferry can go home and serve his prison terms outside prisons or detainees,” he said. With Ferry Irawan's partially running detention period, Agustinus Nahak hopes that the application to be submitted can be approved.
