JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango has cleared his office. He took advantage of the holiday while exercising on Sunday, December 15 yesterday.

He conveyed this when he was about to leave for the inauguration procession for the KPK Leadership and Supervisory Board at the State Palace, Jakarta today, Monday, December 16.

"Yesterday, on Sunday, I came by chance to exercise," Nawawi told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"I'm carrying what can be transported," he continued.

Furthermore, Nawawi said that he would complete his work until the handover of the handover of the position was carried out on Friday, December 20. The inauguration was carried out earlier because President Prabowo Subianto would carry out a working visit based on information from the Secretary General of the KPK Cahya H. Harefa.

"From the Secretary General to us (structural, ed) he said maybe the President had a visit, there was a visit, (to, red) outside," he said.

As previously reported, President Prabowo Subianto will inaugurate the Chairperson and Supervisory Board of the KPK for the period 2024-2029 today, Monday, December 16. Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak, who will return to office, said that he only received the information on Sunday, December 15 yesterday.

"Just yesterday (the information will be sworn in on Monday, December 16, ed)," Johanis said when confirmed via text message.

Johanis said he was contacted by the presidential protocol section regarding information on the inauguration. Meanwhile, when asked about the handover of positions from the KPK leadership for the 2019-2024 period, he said it was not carried out immediately.

For information, the head of the anti-corruption commission for the 2019-2024 period or Volume V was sworn in on December 20, 2019.

They should be completed in 2023. However, the term of office of the KPK leadership and Council was extended to five years after the Constitutional Court (MK) received a judicial review submitted by Nurul Ghufron as Deputy Chair of the KPK.

Likewise with the KPK Supervisory Board. The first volume due to the revision of the KPK Law Number 19 of 2019 was also inaugurated on December 20. The position of Chairman of the KPK for the next five years will be carried out by Setyo Budiyanto.

The following 5 KPK leaders were elected through a fit and proper test by Commission III of the DPR RI:

1. Setyo Budiyanto who is the Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture;

2. Fitroh Rohcahyanto who is the former Director of Prosecution of the KPK;

3. Ibnu Basuki Widodo who is a judge at the Manado High Court;

4. Johanis Tanak who is the Deputy Chair of the KPK for the 2019-2024 period; and

5. Agus Joko Pramono who is the Deputy Chair of the BPK for the 2019-2023 period

Meanwhile, the KPK Council chosen by Commission III of the DPR is as follows:
