IKN Authority Cooperates With World Tech Giants, Involves Cisco, Autodesk To ESRI
The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) has agreed on a cooperation agreement in the form of an MoU with various technology giants in Silicon Valley, Cisco, Autodesk and ESRI.
"This collaboration is in order to realize IKN as a smart city," said Prof. Ali Berawi, Deputy for Green Technology and the digital sector of the IKN Authority in his official statement, Sunday, November 19.
Ali gave an example of cooperation with Cisco which can make IKN buildings have a digital system in terms of integrated data processing and security.
A number of high-ranking IKN Authority officials visited the Silicon Valley technology center in San Francisco, California, United States. This visit is to establish cooperation and sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a number of leading technology companies.
Head of the IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, said that the development of IKN into a smart city is clear and part of the transformation that is currently being carried out in Indonesia.
One of the transformations is to build a new capital city that we must imagine in 2045 as sustainability. We have to jump into a smart city. Almost all major cities in the world have implemented the smart city concept," said Bambang.
IKN Authority spokesman Troy Pantouw said Indonesia wanted to move up from low-income to high-income countries through changing to smart and leading cities at world level.
"What we are doing is transformation. Not only building a city, but the transformation of a new civilization so that Indonesia in 2045 becomes a stronger and more prosperous nation," he said.
Ali added that not only with companies from the US, IKN also cooperates with companies from a number of other big countries. "We are preparing all infrastructure," he said.
Ali said that in the development of IKN, collaboration of many parties is absolutely necessary, including the technology giants in the world technology center, Silicon Valley.
Vice President Engineering Sustainability Office Cisco Denis Lee Yeh said that his party had done many things to support the sustainability and environmentally friendly system for human life. You do this with the construction of data centers, smart buildings and workspace and the internet for the future.
For your information, Cisco is a company that develops and manufactures network devices, telecommunications, and provides technology solution services.
Cisco will participate in smart city apparatus installations such as the development of networks of sensor technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) for data collection, delivery and utilization and information in the field.

The development of technology facilities and infrastructure for connectivity networks will be useful for various smart technology solutions such as water and energy management, transportation management, smart buildings, and city management.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, an MoU was signed between the IKN Authority, represented by Prof. Ali Berawi and Autodesk, by Total Rose, Senior Director, Autodesk Government Affairs and Public Policy.
Autodesk is a company that produces various software and provides digital solution services.
Autodesk solutions are used for the design, development and operation of infrastructure projects. Autodesk will participate in assisting OIKN in designing livable and beloved cities.
Meanwhile, Autodesk technology will help improve city planning performance through visualization, optimization, and building planning simulations, public spaces, and infrastructure that improve the efficiency and sustainability of development project management.
The IKN Authority also signed a cooperation agreement in the form of an MoU with the ESRI (Environment System Research Institute, Inc), which is a software company based on a geospatial information system. ESRI will participate in developing spatially based analytic technology.
This technology is used for mapping, monitoring, remote sensing, and spatial data management. Through this geospatial information technology, it can help the IKN Authority in planning IKN spatial planning and land.
This will help the IKN Authority in planning, development, and city management. Utilization of geospatial data and information can be utilized in the management of natural resources such as water, forests, wildlife, and biodiversity, mitigating disaster risk, and so on.
The signing of the MoU between OIKN and ESRI was represented by the Deputy for Green and Digital Technology, Prof. Mohammed Ali Belawi and Dean Angelides, ESRI Director of Global Business Development.
