Perpetrators Choose Peace Path With Victims, 4 Cases Do Not Continue Legal Process
The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has stopped prosecuting four cases from the Gunungsitoli, Tanjungbalai, Belawan and North Tapanuli District Attorney's Office with a restorative justice approach (RJ) for making peace.
"The termination of prosecution for four cases with the Attorney General's Office Jampidum Dr Fadil Zumhana was received by TP Director Oharda Nanang Ibrahim and the team online, Thursday (16/11)," said Head of the Legal Information Section of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Yos A Tarigan in Medan as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 19.
The case was approved to be terminated by humane prosecution from the North Tapanuli Kejari with the suspect Sahata Rumabutar who violated Article 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
Then the Kejari Kejari Gunungsitoli with the suspect Sozanolo Hia alias Ama Jelsan violated Article 44 Paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence.

The Tanjungbalai Prosecutor's Office and the suspect Sri Hartati violated Article 351 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and the Belawan Prosecutor's Office with the suspect Zakaria Lubis alias Zaka violated Article 378 of the Criminal Code.
"These four cases were terminated by prosecution with a restorative justice approach with the consideration that the suspect had committed a criminal act for the first time, the losses incurred were not more than Rp. 2.5 million, the punishment was no more than five years and had reconciled," said Yos.
The peace process between the suspect and the victim was witnessed directly by the families of both parties, community leaders, investigators from the police and the general prosecutor.
"This peace also opens up a legal space to return the situation to its original state, there will be no more grudges in the future, and the suspect promises not to repeat his actions," he said.
