Joint Officers Guard KPU Office, Police Chief: Only Certain People Can Pass

Central Jakarta Metro Police deployed 2100 joint personnel to secure the draw and determination of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Pair at the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Office on Tuesday, November 14, afternoon.

"A total of 2100 joint personnel are from the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Polda Metro Jaya, Kodam Jaya and are backed up from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro to reporters.

Thousands of personnel will be stationed at several different points. Starting in the HI Roundabout area, in front of the Indonesian KPU Building, Suropati Park and Megaria area.

"Starting at 13.00 WIB, we will carry out limited traffic sterilization in front of the KPU Building. Only certain people will be allowed to pass," he said.

The police chief said that while the Imam Bonjol road section, in front of the KPU building that can be crossed is the road to Salemba.

The KPU invites every pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates to bring their supporters and sympathizers in the limited number that has been determined by the KPU Pamdal by giving ID Cards to sympathizers.

"We hope that all the supporters and sympathizers will adapt maturity in politics and democracy. Hopefully tonight it will run safely and in an orderly manner," he said.
