Xue Ning tried to restore his throne but in the end he remained under house arrest. On the other hand, Xi Wei (Zhang Ling He) slaughtered the whole city.

After the incident, Xue Ning received a message containing Xi Wei's desire to be buried with the emperor.

Xue Ning had a second chance to change his fate not to enter the palace. He had vowed not to enter the palace for any reason.
