Solid Cash Work For Roads And Bridges Absorbed By 70,125 Workers Until October 2023
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the Cash Labor Intensive Program (PKT) for roads and bridges for the 2023 fiscal year (TA) had absorbed 70,125 workers by the end of October.
"It was recorded that until October 30, 2023, the solid realization of road and bridge works that had been carried out was IDR 2.7 trillion with labor absorption of up to 70,125 people in 2,322 locations," said Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of PUPR, Wednesday, November 8.
Hedy said, in FY 2023, the Directorate General of Highways received an allocation of IDR 4.8 trillion for the street and bridge PKT program with a target of absorbing 80,000 workers in 2,650 locations.
The PKT program for roads and bridges includes routine maintenance of roads, routine maintenance of road conditions, support or road holding, routine maintenance of bridges, and revitalization of drainage to improve the quality of national road services.
It is known, this program is carried out in all Centers for the Implementation of National Roads/Balai for the Implementation of National Roads at the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of PUPR.
The PKT FY 2023 budget allocation for routine road maintenance is Rp.883 billion, routine maintenance of road conditions is Rp. 44 billion, road support or holding of Rp. 256 billion, routine maintenance of bridges of Rp. 302 billion, and revitalization of drainage of Rp. 178 billion.

In addition to the routine PKT program for roads and bridges as well as drainage revitalization, at the FY 2023 the Directorate General of Highways also carried out labor-intensive work for non-routine activities or contractual activities with a budget of IDR 2.74 trillion.
The PKT program of the Ministry of PUPR is carried out through infrastructure development that involves the community or local residents as development actors, especially small-scale infrastructure or simple jobs that do not require technology.
Development of labor-intensive infrastructure aims to create jobs and increase people's purchasing power, PKT also aims to distribute funds to villages or remote areas.
