Collaborating With Sunyi Coffee, Danamon Invites Customers To Join In Building The Future Of Disabled Friends
JAKARTA - Danamon through the Danamon Peduli program in collaboration with the Sunyi Academy, a foundation engaged in the development of the culinary industry for friends with disabilities, launched the Sharing in Sunyi program, which invites Danamon customers to participate in building a better future for disabled friends.
During the period from October 30 to November 13, 2023 at the Danamon Pondok Indah Mall 2 and Kelapa Gading Branch Offices, as well as from November 13 to 30, 2023 at the Matraman and Prapatan Branch Offices, customers can buy and enjoy coffee from the Sunyi Coffee booths at these branch offices for IDR 1 using the QRIS D-Bank Pro to donate IDR 30,000 to friends with disabilities in need.
The funds collected will then be used to provide skills briefing to disabled friends in the Jabodetabek area so that they can become independent and build a better future for themselves.
In a series of training and internship events, participants will be taught knowledge about coffee theory and engineering to become barista, as well as how to manage good business finances. After the training which will be held from November 13 to 17, 2023 at the Nanyi Coffee outlet in Barito, Jakarta, the participants will get a certificate and opportunity to intern at Kopi Sunyi for one month. Disabled friends who are interested in participating in this program can register on the Instagram account Kopi Sunyi @sunyicoffee.

According to data from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko PMK), currently there are 22.97 million friends with disabilities. However, until 2022 only about 7.6 million of those who have jobs both in the formal and non-formal sectors. This shows that friends with disabilities have the opportunity to work smaller than the community in general.
On the other hand, data from Barekraf says that the majority of creative industries are dominated by a culinary business of 41.4%, with coffee shops included in it. This is what underlies the Sunyi Academy through Kopi Sunyi, committed to helping prepare friends with disabilities so that they can have a permanent livelihood in the field of culinary MSMEs.
For information, most of the Sinyi Coffee customers are Millennials and Gen Z is 20-30 and is a dynamic and active person using social media. These two generations are also known to have high social awareness, with 62% Millennials and 58% Gen Z having participated in fundraising or donations, as reported by the Indonesia Millennial and Gen Z Report 2022 by the IDN Research Institute.
