East Java Provincial Government Prepares 368 Health Workers At The U-17 World Cup Arena

SURABAYA - The East Java Provincial Government has alerted 368 health workers and opened 24-hour health care facilities (fasyankes) around the U-17 World Cup match arena.

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa explained that all medical teams were coordinated by the provincial Health Office (Dinkes), from the Surabaya City Health Office, Gresik Regency, and Sidoarjo.

"Medic team members will serve at several points, namely at the exercise venue, match venue, to hotel," he said, Monday, November 6.

The city of Surabaya is one of the hosts of the U-17 World Cup which is scheduled to take place on November 10-2 December 2023.

He explained that health services had been prepared since 27 October.

There are eight referral hospitals that have been appointed in the World Cup in Surabaya, namely the Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, BDH Hospital Surabaya, Mitra Keluarga Satelit Surabaya Hospital, National Hospital, PHC Surabaya Hospital, Semen Gresik Hospital, Mayapada Hospital Surabaya, and Premiere Hospital.

In each hospital is alerted to the emergency room, outpatient services, hospitalizations for athletes, officials, referees, delegates from the International Football Federation (FIFA), and other important guests.

Khofifah ensured that the designated hospital had committed to fulfilling the specifications and requests from FIFA through PSSI.

"We have also submitted a letter to each hospital regarding the alerting of health workers and health facilities," he said.

He said the medical personnel on alert also included specialist doctors.

The speed of handling is needed with its own service flow and inspection. Each health facility provides integrated services efficiently that can be accessed online.

"We have appointed the person in charge for each hospital during the implementation. The financing of athletes, officials and referees is borne by cashless (non-cash) and reimbursement (pay back) insurance," he said.

Health support prepared and alerted, he said, includes the provision of health services by the medical team consisting of a doctor, two nurses and an ambulance and a driver.

In addition, medical services for athletes in competitions, training, and non-competition arenas.

"Also supported by a network of referral hospitals formed to carry out services in medical emergencies," said Khofifah.

The U-17 World Cup match in the city of Surabaya was centered at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT), covering the preliminary round and the last 16 at 10.13.16, and November 21, 2023.

He hopes that the U-17 World Cup Health Team can carry out their duties smoothly, healthily, and safely until the end of the activity so that Indonesia's name will be fragrant in international football.
