Surabaya City Government Completes GBT Stadium With 7 360 Degree Cameras
SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) completed the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) by installing seven units of 360-degree CCTV cameras ahead of the U-17 World Cup on November 10.
Head of Information Technology Security and Infrastructure Surabaya, Tri Aji Nugroho, said that the GBT Stadium currently has an independent security monitoring system using CCTV and its control rooms.
"The security monitoring self-issuance system continues to be perfected, one of which is by installing seven units of 360-degree CCTV cameras," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.
Tri explained that the security monitoring self-system had been installed for a long time. In fact, so far the Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) has installed 123 CCTVs in various parts of the stadium.
In an effort to increase security monitoring in the stadium environment, especially in the field, the Surabaya City Government installed seven new CCTVs to monitor the stands and FoP (Field of play) with cameras that could rotate 360 degrees mounted on the roof of the GBT stands.
According to him, the GBT stands CCTV is an important part of the CCTV system owned by the GBT Stadium. With this CCTV, it is hoped that it can help the match organizing committee to monitor and record all events that occur during matches, especially the security of the audience.

"With these seven camera units that can rotate 360 degrees, they can reach and can record all areas in the stadium. With this monitoring, the committee can find out what happened in the stands and can immediately take action, such as the incident where spectators fainted and so on," he said.
He also emphasized that all the cameras will be monitored by officers through the control room. Inside the control room, there is already a large monitor that shows the highlights of all CCTV cameras.
"The control room also moved, which was originally on the 2nd floor as requested by FIFA we moved to the 7th floor. So, now it is more representative and is ready to monitor and record every movement of the spectators entering the GBT," he said.
