Facilitate Passenger Access, KAI Commuter Adds Electronic Gate At BNI City Station
JAKARTA - KAI Commuter operates an additional electronic gate at the North Tuesday platform 1 Sudirman Baru Station (BNI City). The addition of this gate is to facilitate access for users who will take the Jabodetabek Commuter Line at the station.
KAI Commuter Corporate Secretary Anne Purba said three electronic gates were operated to perform the tap-in process or tap-out of users at BNI City Station. The operation of this gate has started since October 27.
"The operation of this additional electronic gate is expected to facilitate access to the station platform from Jalan Sudirman or from the station platform towards Jalan Sudirman," he said in an official statement, Monday, October 30.
Anne said that for Jabodetabek Commuter Line users to Tanah Abang Station, Duri Station or Kampung Bandan Station, they could immediately wait for their train trip at Platform 1 station.
"Meanwhile, users to Manggarai Station or Bekasi/Cikarang Station after going through the additional electronic gate can move to platform 2 stations," he said.
From observations, Jabodetabek Commuter Line users on the weekend holiday last week in October 2023 were monitored smoothly. Throughout October 2023, the average user on weekends was 659,421 people per day. Meanwhile, the average user on weekdays was 892,045 people per day or 35 percent.
Meanwhile, said Anne, specifically at BNI City Station, the average number of users on weekends is 1,424 people per day. Meanwhile, the average user on weekdays is 1,578 people per day. This figure is still far below the average weekend user at Sudirman Station, which is 17,166 people per day and an average of 30,937 people on weekdays.
"The operation of an additional electronic gate at BNI City Station is also expected to reduce the density of users who will board the Commuter Line at Sudirman Station, especially during peak hours in the afternoon," he said.
The reason, said Anne, was that during the weekend holidays or other holidays, it was recorded that the distribution of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users focused on 09.00-17.00 WIB. KAI Commuter also alerted officers at the additional electronic gate area for services to users.

"For this reason, KAI Commuter invites all Jabodetabek Commuter Line users to prepare for their journey from the start. Use the C-Access application to get information on travel schedules, congestion at stations and Commuter Line positions to be taken," he said.
KAI Commuter continues to appeal to all users who bring their children to always maintain their safety in the station area and on the Commuter Line, make sure the child is always under the supervision of parents or companions.
"For users who bring children at least 3 years old or at least 90 cm tall, they are required to buy tickets," he said.
