DKI Budgets IDR 793 Billion For Cheap Food Programs In 2024
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has allocated a budget of IDR 793 billion in cheap or subsidized food programs during 2024. This allocation has been agreed with the DKI DPRD in the preparation of the APBD for the 2024 fiscal year.
"The budget allocation for the cheap subsidized food program in 2024 is IDR 793 billion for 924,332 beneficiaries," said Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD in his statement, Friday, October 20.
After the low-cost food budget was disbursed, Ismail asked the DKI Provincial Government to ensure that the program's budget allocation could be realized on target.
Bearing in mind, the DKI Provincial Government is currently synchronizing data on Jakarta residents who are included in the recipients of the social safety net.
"The DKI Provincial Government is currently synchronizing data on recipients of assistance from a number of programs, namely the Jakarta Smart Card, Jakarta Elderly Card, Jakarta Worker Card and so on," said Ismail.
Furthermore, Ismail said that Commission B of the DPRD also asked the DKI KPKP Office to coordinate across regional apparatus organizations (OPD) including the Education Office, Social Service and the Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Office to adjust data on recipients of cheap food subsidies.
"The DKI KPKP (Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security) Office as the leading sector in budgeting coordinates with a number of SKPDs that have social assistance programs," he explained.
In this cheap food program, residents can buy a number of foodstuffs below the market price. Among them are 1 kilogram of beef at a price of Rp. 35 thousand, 1 kilogram of chicken meat Rp. 8 thousand, 15 eggs Rp. 10 thousand, 5 kilograms of premium rice Rp. 30 thousand, 1 kilogram of convex fish Rp. 13 thousand, and 1 carton of UHT milk Rp. 30 thousand.

The subsidized low-cost food program has been taking place since January 2022 targeting low-income people. The majority of these low-cost food targets are residents who receive social safety nets from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
