Chairman Of KASN Reminds ASN To Play Politically Practitious Mode Towards Corruption
JAKARTA - Chairman of the State Civil Apparatus Commission (KASN) Agus Pramusinto reminded that the practical politics carried out by ASN is one of the modes towards corruption.
"Playing in practical politics is one of the modes towards corruption," Agus said in a webinar entitled "Involved in Politicization, Entangled in Corruption: Political Year, ASN Corruption Prone Year" reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 18.
Agus said that ASN is vulnerable to engaging in corrupt practices ahead of the 2024 political year, departing from the condition of political contestants who need ammunition from funds due to high political costs.
"Political contestants certainly cannot execute these various corruption opportunities directly. They will collude with ASN officials who have the authority to manage budget resources, human resources, and assets, who are willing to pawn integrity," he said.
He then explained four bureaucratic activities that could potentially be targeted by ASN based on the records of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
First, he said, the practice of bribery in filling ASN positions, both high leadership positions (JPT), administrators, and supervisors.
"Second, procurement activities for goods and services. Third, budget policies, both in the planning, implementation and reporting stages; and fourth, the issuance of permits," he said.
In connection with the 2024 election, he continued, politicization of ASN and corruption can not only occur in the four activities above, but also in the social assistance area (bansos) for people who are meant to vote in the election.

For this reason, he hopes that the implementation of programs and activities that have been planned in each institution will not be hampered due to politicization and corruption in the political year carried out by ASN.
Because according to him, politicization of ASN will in the end only produce unethical civil servants and are willing to sacrifice the public interest in order to please their political "mature".
"Public services should continue to run effectively. There is no choice for ASN in responding to this situation other than working guided by laws and regulations. Loyalty to the nation and state must be above the interests of superiors or electoral political interests," he said.
