The Forward Indonesia Coalition Has Not Yet Had A Meeting After The Constitutional Court's Decision Allows Regional Heads To Advance For The Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra said the Forward Indonesia Coalition had not held a joint meeting after reading the Constitutional Court (MK) decision regarding changes to the registration requirements for presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election.

"Initially, yesterday there was an invitation for a joint meeting, but it was postponed and until now there has been no invitation to the head of the political party in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition," said Yusril as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 17.

His party is still waiting for the schedule for the meeting of the general chairman of the Jakarta Maju Coalition (KIM) to discuss the prospective Prabowo Subianto assistant candidate in the 2024 General Election.

According to Yusril, a meeting with the general chairman of the KIM political party was to find a new vice presidential candidate (cawapres) to be held once.

He told the meeting when it took place on the round table, then provided with blank paper and envelopes that were distributed so that the proposal for Prabowo Subianto's future companion was filled.

Then, he continued, each general chairman of the political party filled the paper with the name of the proposed vice presidential candidate for Prabowo. The paper was then put in an envelope and collected by Prabowo.

According to Yusril, it is possible from this result, Prabowo announced that there are four names of figures from West Java, Central Java, East Java, and outside Java that he is considering will be his vice presidential candidate.

"The plan is yesterday we will have a second meeting regarding the future vice presidential candidate, but it has been postponed to this day," he said.

After the Constitutional Court's decision, Yusrila expressed her views regarding the decision in front of the general chairman of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition party. If the coalition decides to make a choice to Gibran Rakabuming Raka, then Yusrila will continue to support the coalition.

"The democratic system makes the losers have to accept the choices that have been made. I respect democratic decisions, but don't let me not say what I know and I understand this issue," said Yusril.
