Gerindra Jember Declares Prabowo-Gibran To Run For The 2024 Presidential Election

JEMBER - The Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) Jember declared the pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka to run in the 2024 Presidential Election.

"Today we held a leadership meeting involving branch administrators and several wings decided to provide support to Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a candidate for vice president to accompany Mr. Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election," said Chairman of the Gerindra Party DPC Jember Ahmad Halim after holding a declaration reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 12.

He hopes that the Gerindra Party and the coalition of parties that support Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate can approve the figure of the Mayor of Solo as an ideal and worthy companion as a candidate for vice president.

"We have raised our aspirations on grassroots and especially millennials really want President Joko Widodo's eldest son as Mr. Prabowo's companion," he said.

Halim, who is also the Deputy Chair of the Jember DPRD, assessed that the young Gibran figure was able to lead the city of Solo well and it was confirmed that he could boost the vote acquisition from novice voters and Generation Z.

"We consider choosing Mas Gibran because of electoral factors and the potential to attract Z generation votes because the number of novice voters in Jember is quite large," he said.

The Jember Gerindra Party DPC, he continued, will communicate the support to the East Java and central Gerindra Party DPW, so that the aspirations of Jember can be accepted.

Prabowo Subianto is supported by a number of political parties that are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, namely the Gerindra Party, Golkar, PAN, Democratic Party, Crescent Star Party, Garuda Party and Gelora Party.
