David Coverdale Reveals Whitesnake's Future
JAKARTA - While appearing in the episode of Sirius XM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" on Wednesday, October 11, David Coverdale spoke of Whitesnake's status, more than a year after the band canceled several European shows.
Not only that, the legendary hard rock band has also withdrawn from the North American tour with Scorpions which was announced earlier because Coverdale had to undergo respiratory tract infection treatment. "Well, my band and I are always in touch. There are still plans and there are still offers that come. I can't entertain anything until I get my physical aspects together," the 72-year-old Whitesnake vocalist opened.
"I fell recently, which I don't think helps me... My two defect rotators are torn, which of course will interfere with my performance," he explained. But arthritis, all these kinds of things are starting to happen.
"My heart is focused on Steven [Tyler] after the recent cancellation [Aerosmithtur]. It's sad, getting older and responsible for trying to be as good as you can so you don't disappoint anyone. And I know how he feels and I send my love to him through our friends, friends together."

But I can't commit to anything until I know how healthy I am," Coverdale added. "The last thing I want to do is go on tour and have to do what happened last year, which was to go home, with a tail between my legs. It's heartbreaking. And pain for a year isn't really helpful."
In May, Coverdale told Rockonteurs about his respiratory infection: "It's really bad. When these things bother you, it's just going to make you helpless."
I spent a lot of money keeping the people [in my band] as secure as possible; we called it a 'COVID bubble'. Private jets wherever we go. But COVID keeps coming and getting some crew out. It's really challenging."
