Thank You Ambassador Zuhair Al Shun, DPR BKSAP Express Indonesia's Commitment To Defend Palestine
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPR BKSAP Fadli Zon received the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al Shun at the DPR building. During the meeting, Fadli stated Indonesia's commitment to defending Palestine.
"I think our commitment to Indonesia is in accordance with our constitution that we must abolish colonialism above the world and therefore not in accordance with humanity and justice. I think this is an order of our constitution and Indonesia is consistent in defending Palestine," said Fadli Zon at the DPR building, Tuesday, October 10.
Fadli assessed that the Hamas and Israeli conflicts were an attempt by Palestinians to defend themselves against Israeli occupation.
"What is happening right now is actually an attempt for Palestinians to defend themselves against Israeli aggression," said Fadli.
Fadli then highlighted the casualties of both parties. He brought up the lands and homes of Palestinians looted by Israel. Fadli even said Israel violated various international agreements and UN resolutions.
"And the efforts made by Palestinians to defend their lands and homes looted by Israel, resulting in this conflict and war," said Fadli.
"We want to see this objectively in general that what has happened so far is a very clear and very real violation by Israel of international agreements against the resolutions of the United Nations," he added.
Fadli also encouraged the conflict to be resolved in a peaceful, negotiation, and regulatory manner. He also ensured that Indonesia would continue to support Palestinian independence.
"We are certainly in Indonesia, I think the Indonesian people, the government and parliament have always supported the independence and sovereignty of Palestine," he said.

Currently, said Fadli, it is the right moment to restore the discussion of the independence of the Palestinian people in the international realm. Like the colonialism that Indonesia had experienced before.
"I think this is also similar to what we used to be when we were colonized by the Dutch, especially in the phase of the war revolution to defend independence, yes, the Dutch have always stated that Indonesia is Indonesia's existence," said Fadli.
Meanwhile, Zuhair appreciated Indonesia's attitude towards Palestine. He said his country was difficult to deal with aggression from Israel.
"Thank you very much to Indonesia and for their good support for Palestine. The situation, which we have discussed on the ground, is very difficult. It's not easy. Killing civilians in the Gaza region, especially in Gaza, more than 800 people have now been killed by Israeli bombs and attacks every day because of that," Zuhair said.
"If anyone asks why, and why it is happening right now, everyone knows that Israeli aggression, is not the first time," he continued.
