The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Ensures That Corruption In The Ministry Of Agriculture Continues To Be Investigated Even Though The Police Are Investigating Allegations Of Feelings

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that corruption in the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) continues to be investigated. The case, which allegedly involved former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo, will not be affected by the alleged extortion being handled by Polda Metro Jaya.

"The investigation of the main case is still being carried out," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted on Monday, October 9.

Ali said the findings during searches in a number of places, including Syahrul's official residence in Widya Chandra, were strong evidence. Thus, the KPK believes there will be no obstacles.

"The findings of money worth Rp. 30 billion and Rp. 400 million, 12 suspected firearms, and important documents we continue to confirm with the witnesses," he said.

"This is a strong clue that should not be forgotten to continue to be escorted," continued Ali.

As previously reported, Syahrul's alleged extortion by the head of the anti-corruption commission has now gone up to investigation. This decision was taken after the case was held on Friday, October 6 yesterday.

In this case, Syahrul Yasin Limpo has also been questioned. There are a number of articles used, namely Article 12 letter e or Article 12 letter B, or Article 11 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile at the KPK, the corruption case that allegedly ensnared Syahrul has been investigated since September 26. In the investigation, investigators searched a number of locations.

At the official residence of Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, investigators found Rp30 billion in cash consisting of rupiah denominations and foreign currencies and firearms.

Then, the search was continued at the Ministry of Agriculture's Office. As a result, documents related to the corruption case were found.

Most recently, investigators also visited Hatta's house in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. From the forced effort, Rp400 million was found.

Next, investigators also found an Audi A6 branded sedan that was confiscated by investigators. This car was obtained by investigators when they searched Syahrul's house in Makassar.
