2 People Died As A Result Of The Warteg Fire Incident In Gambir
JAKARTA - A total of residents were reported to have died as a result of a fire that hit a warteg and a photocopying site on Setia Kawan Street, RT 02/07, Duri Pulo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 28, at noon, at around 13.00 WIB.
"The victim died of two female people and three other people suffered burns. The three people who were burned were Slamet Wahyudu (42), Darkiam (49) and Rafa (7)," said Head of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept., Asril Rizal when confirmed, Thursday, September 28.
According to Asril, the origin of the fire started from the shophouse which was used as a warteg type restaurant. Then the fire quickly spread and grew and burned the shophouse next to it.
After receiving the report, officers deployed 10 fire engines to the fire site to extinguish the blaze.
"The fire was successfully extinguished at 14.28 WIB. The alleged cause of the fire was due to a gas leak from the warteg shophouse. The presence of gas leaks was also confirmed by residents and local RTs," he said.

Meanwhile, according to the witness to the officers, at the time of the incident there were 5 people in the shop shop area.
"There are indications of fire lighting starting from a restaurant that is suspected of having had a sudden gas leak. The fire grew and immediately spread to the side shop, namely the photocopy shop. The building owner is estimated to have suffered a loss of more than Rp. 150 million," he said.
