With A Prisoner Vest, The Son Of The Chairman Of The Ambon DPRD Suspected Of Persecuting The Victim To Death Was Handed Over To The Prosecutor

The Ambon District Attorney's investigating prosecutor received the delegation of the second stage of the alleged criminal act of persecution, resulting in the death of another person with suspect AAST alias Abdi (25) who is the son of the chairman of the Ambon City DPRD.

"Today, the second phase of the files have been transferred in the form of files and suspects as well as evidence from the Ambon Island Police Satreskim investigators and PP Lease," said Head of Legal Information and Public Relations of the Maluku Attorney General's Office Wahyudi Kareba in Ambon as reported by ANTARA Friday, September 22.

The second phase of the transfer of files was received by the Head of the General Crimes Section of the Ambon Kejari, Hubertus Tanate, who acted as the public prosecutor in the case.

Suspect AAST alias Abdi who was suspected of committing a criminal act of assault against Rafli Rahman Sie (18) until the victim died was suspected of violating Article 351 paragraph (3) and Article 354 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code.

After the second stage was handed over, the Ambon Kejari investigators then carried out the detention by entrusting the suspect at the Ambon Class II A State Detention Center.

"This detention is based on an order from the Head of the Ambon District Attorney's Office. The suspect is detained for 20 days from September 22 to October 11, 2023," said Wahyudi.

Furthermore, the suspect AAST was escorted by a Ambon Kejari detention car to the Ambon Class II A Detention Center.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Ambon Island Police, Ipda Janete Luhukay, said that the case file for the persecution case involving the son of the chairman of the Ambon City DPRD was still equipped with investigators according to the prosecutor's instructions since the first phase was handed over some time ago.

"The prosecutor's appointment to complete the case file is to ask for additional witness statements, such as an autopsy expert and neuroscientist," he said.

AAST was named a suspect by the police on July 30, 2023 on suspicion of committing a criminal act of mistreatment of Rafli Rahman Sie (18) on Sunday, July 29, 2023, at 21:10 WIT until the victim died.
