BNN Arrests 6.3 Kg Of International Network Methamphetamine Courier In Batam
The Riau Islands National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) arrested two men who were couriers of international methamphetamine networks in Batam. BNN confiscated 6.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine as evidence.
Head of Eradication of the Riau Islands BNNP Kombes Bumbung Pramiadi said the arrests of the two suspects were carried out on Monday, September 18, 2023.
"The Riau Islands BNNP officers managed to arrest two methamphetamine couriers on Monday (18/9). Both of them had the initials HR and AK. They were secured in front of a hotel in Batam," said Budung in Batam as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 21.
He said the 6.3 kg of crystal methamphetamine came from Malaysia which was picked up directly by the HR suspect by sea by fast boat.
"So HR is a former fast boat driver, he admitted that he was ordered by someone to pick up the methamphetamine to Malaysia. Then HR was warned to give the methamphetamine to AK," he said.
Both were arrested during a transaction. Then an interrogation and development were carried out at HR's house in the Tanjung Uma area.
From the results of the examination by the Riau Islands BNNP officer to HR, he admitted that he received a salary of Rp. 20 million per kilogram. HR admitted that he had done this twice.
"First, HR's confession, he picked up 3 kg to Malaysia and was successfully circulated. Then the second, he picked up 6.3 kg and failed by officers," he said.

His party is currently pursuing several other perpetrators involved in the network.
"For several other perpetrators who are connected to the two perpetrators, they are still being chased," he said.
