Russia-Iran Are Getting More Intimate, Defense Minister Shoigu: Sanction Pressure Proven In Vain
JAKARTA - The cooperation between Russia and Iran has reached its highest point, proving the pressure of sanctions on them has no effect, instead computing the determination to implement the entire plan, despite Western opposition, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"We are determined to implement the entire series of activities we plan despite opposition from the US and its Western allies," Defense Minister Shoigu said during a meeting with his team from Iran Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani, as reported by TASS on September 21.
Defense Minister Shoigu further announced the readiness "to take further joint steps, in order to strengthen stability and security in the Middle East."
"We are pleased to note that the Russia-Iran dialogue has become very intense lately," Shoigu said.
According to him, this is largely due to trust-based relations between Russian and Iranian leaders.
"The high intensity of the meeting confirms our joint determination to continue to improve the strategic defense partnership," said the Russian Defense Minister.
