Eight Years Of Genesis Existence With A Sales Achievement Of More Than One Million Units
JAKARTA - Genesis, as a premium automotive brand, recently announced their extraordinary achievements by achieving sales of more than one million units globally after eight years of their existence in the global automotive market.
In detail, this luxury brand recorded sales of 1,008,504 units, including 690,177 units in South Korea and 318,627 units outside the local market.
Mike Song, Global Head of Genesis, said this success was the result of the brand's bold steps in presenting original vehicles and facing spectacular growth.
"We will continue to build an unprecedented luxury experience," Mike said in a company statement, Sunday, September 17.
Genesis, which is part of the Hyundai Motor Group (HMG), was launched in 2015 with various premium models accelerating their penetration in the global market share.
Starting with the introduction of Genesis G90, the South Korean manufacturer continues to grow by launching other models such as G70, G80, GV70, and GV80.
In 2020, Genesis achieved historic achievements by recording sales of more than 100,000 units, appropriately reaching 132,450 units.

One of the most successful models of Genesis is the G80, a medium-sized luxury sedan that has been sold for up to 390,758 units since its debut on the global market in 2016.
Like many other manufacturers, Genesis has also planned an ambitious electrification strategy as a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) segment in the next few years.
Starting in 2025, all of Genesis's newest models will fully use electric power. The move is backed by plans to diversify electric vehicle manufacturing plants, with the aim of meeting global demand for electrification.
Genesis, who is also Kia's brother, is also planning to add new premium models, including GV80 Coupe and updates to GV80 scheduled for this year. In addition, new models will soon be added to reach the latest segments.
