National Museum Forms Of Post-Fire Collection Identification Team

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Museum formed an identification team for the affected cultural heritage collection, after a fire hit the museum complex on Saturday (16/9) night.

"The National Museum has formed an identification team to form a team consisting of curators and conservators," said Acting Head of the Public Service Agency of the Museum and Cultural Heritage Ahmad Mahendra as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.

The team has been allowed to enter five of the six rooms affected by the fire at Building A by the Puslabfor Police Headquarters team who conducted the investigation.

Mahendra revealed that the team experienced problems after entering the five rooms.

"Our team was about to enter but it turned out that it was constrained by the rubble that there were large blocks that were still passing by above, this needed handling to move it," he said.

The transfer of debris in the prehistoric chamber involved PPSU. In addition, the team has moved part of the collection in the affected room and identified it.

Mahendra said security at the Indonesian National Museum was tightened, although visitors are currently interested people.

"Because dealing with history. Do not let any collections disappear," he said.
