Vice President Wants Chinese Businessmen Not To Hesitate To Invest Halal Products In RI

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that Chinese entrepreneurs will not hesitate to invest in halal products in Indonesia.

"I ask that later Al-Amin continue to make efforts to campaign for entrepreneurs in China to invest in Indonesia," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Shanghai, China as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 18.

Vice President Ma'ruf conveyed this during a meeting with representatives of the Shanghai Institute for Food, Medicine and Cosmetic Studies of the Indonesian Ulema Council (LPPOM MUI) and Halal Sector Entrepreneurs in China which took place at the LPPOM MUI office in China which is also the Shanghai Al-Amin Consultant office, a subsidiary of Shanghai Al-Amin Biotech Co. Ltd.

"Because, first, Indonesia's consumption itself is quite large as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, 230 million and then 230 million for export to various countries and if it is produced from Indonesia, its products will be more trusted by Muslims in the world," said the Vice President.

As the MUI LPPOM Representative Office at the RRT, Shanghai Al Amin, according to the Vice President, has facilitated Chinese companies to obtain halal certificates from Indonesia.

"And it is hoped that later it will not only be a matter of halal certificates but also Shanghai Al Amin has brought many businessmen from the People's Republic of China to invest in the halal product industry in Indonesia," added the Vice President.

Especially for Indonesia, the level of consumption of halal products and services is projected to increase by around 15 percent by 2025, or approximately 281 billion US dollars.

"This condition makes halal certification a prerequisite for a halal lifestyle, because it guarantees consumer comfort and protection of halal products," said the Vice President.

In terms of regulation, namely Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee, according to the Vice President, halal certification is a mandate that must be implemented. These provisions regulate all products that enter, circulate, and are traded in Indonesia that must be halal certification.

"I hope that the cooperation between Indonesia and China in the halal industry sector will be stronger and more sustainable. Thus, it can bring benefits, not only for the two countries, Indonesia and the RRT, but also for the world community as a whole," continued the Vice President.
