Mini Make Sure Clubman Doesn't Have The Latest Generation

JAKARTA - Since its introduction in 2007, Mini Clubman has been a model presented with a five-door configuration. This model is an attraction for brand lovers thanks to its wide dimension.

Stefanie Wurst, as Head of Mini, said that his party would not present the latest Clubman as a future model. He also said that a compact model like Aceman would fill the position of a five-door vehicle along with Countryman.

"Aceman is a smaller concept, but in my opinion, the five-door space is filled by Countryman and Aceman. If you look at sales figures around the world, Countryman is twice that of Clubman," said Wurst, quoted from Top Gear, Friday, September 15.

Mini Aceman is a concept car that was revealed in 2022 and will soon be produced as an electric-powered crossover. As a result, Clubman will not get a third generation.

Wurst added that with the elimination of Clubman, the latest Countryman will represent this brand as a large-dimensional crossover car with five doors.

"I like Clubman. But for a large car, we decided to continue with the latest Countryman," added Wurst.

The British manufacturer has previously launched Clubman S Final Edition in the US market as a farewell to the model, which is only 100 units available. This is the last variant of Clubman to stop accepting orders in February 2024.

This news could be bad news for Mini lovers around the world, after previously the manufacturer also said it would eliminate manual transmission for its vehicles in the future.

Furthermore, Mini will begin to shift its focus on electrification by introducing Cooper EV and Countryman EV. Cooper EV was introduced earlier this month by providing trim E and SE.

Then there is the latest generation of Countryman EVs with dimensions greater than their predecessors. With a length of 4,433 millimeters, a width of 1,843 millimeters, and a height of 1,656 millimeters, this car was exhibited in public at IAA Munich some time ago. There are two variants offered, namely Countryman E and Countryman SE ALL4.
