Jeep Opens New Gladiator Options To Get Hybrid System
JAKARTA - Jeep has launched an update on the Gladiator. This model is known as a medium-sized pickup that has high performance with off-road capabilities.
Jeep Gladiator 2024 comes with several aspects that are improved starting from its advanced security, capabilities and technology features. However, there is no significant change in terms of driving power.
Just like other manufacturers, Jeep is one of many automakers preparing to enter the electrification market in the future. The US manufacturer also has a 4xe system which is a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) system and has been embedded into several models, such as the latest Wrangler.
Unlike Wrangler, Gladiator did not get the powertrain but was equipped with a 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine that could produce up to 285 dk of power and 352 Nm of torque, which is a pure internal combustion engine (ICE).
Jim Morrison, head of Jeep North America, said that his party is currently preparing several models that will get an electrification system in the future and it is likely that the Gladiator is one of them.
"It's very open that by 2025 we will electrify the entire region, so by deduction, it will happen," Morrison was quoted as saying by Muscle Cars & Truck, Thursday, September 14.

The possibility of presenting the PHEV version for the Gladiator is quite open considering that the diesel variant will be stopped during its production period.
The 4xe powertran developed by Jeep has been embedded in several of its flagship models, such as Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe, where this engine can power up to 375 dk and torque 637 Nm.
Back to the 2024 Gladiator, the model will be available in nine exterior color choices reflecting the driver's style and personality, as well as in various types such as Sport, Willys, Mojave, and Rubicon.
In its class, Jeep Gladiator competes with other medium-sized pickup trucks such as Chevrolet Colorado, GMC levy, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma in the US.
