2023 APBD Deficit, Transjakarta Ticket Subsidy Drops IDR 336 Billion
BOGOR - DKI Jakarta Provincial Government reduced the public service obligation (PSO) value in Transjakarta ticket subsidies to Rp336 billion this year.
This was stated by the President Director of PT Transjakarta Welfizon Yuza after the Commission B meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD which discussed the Raperda on Amendments to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Budget for Fiscal Year 2023.
"Regarding PSO, there has been a decrease of Rp336 billion due to the budget deficit. The DKI Provincial Government's budget is in deficit," said Welfizon at Grand Cempaka Resort & Convention, Bogor, West Java, Thursday, September 14.
So far, Transjakarta tickets have been subsidized from the APBD of around Rp. 13,000 for a trip because the economic value of the Transjakarta tariff is Rp. 15 thousand per ticket.
However, Welfizon claims the reduction of the hundreds of billions of PSO will not interfere with Transjakarta passenger services.
"Although there is an adjustment to PSO, we still maintain the service. So, the adjustment is in accordance with the margin and also some internal efficiency things that we do," said Welfizon.

In fact, Welfizon said that the BUMD for public transportation is also targeting an increase in the number of services by 40 percent from 2022.
"We will still pursue the number of our customers in the year Rp. 265 million. So it is estimated that it will increase by 40 percent compared to the achievement in 2022 of Rp. 191 million," he explained.
For information, the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget in 2023 experienced a deficit of up to IDR 5 trillion. The pure APBD value in 2023 was originally set at IDR 83.78 trillion and then in the APBD change it fell to IDR 78.72 trillion.
This APBD value shrinkage is caused by regional income that does not reach the target. Thus, in the 2023 APBD changes, the DKI Provincial Government and the DKI Jakarta DPRD need to adjust the value of income and spending to make it more realistic.
