Prisoners Escape From Bengkalis Prison Arrested In Belukar Square, Had Asked Residents To Eat
RIAU - Bengkalis Police arrested a prisoner named Syamsul Arifin (36) who escaped through the ceiling of Bengkalis prison in Riau. Syamsul was arrested while hiding in an empty soil overgrown with shrubs on Thursday, September 14 at around 13.00 WIB.
"We arrested this fire on Jalan Pramuka, Senggoro Bengkalis Village, previously this prisoner asked to eat at the houses of residents around the location and then hide in the bush," said Bengkalis Police Chief AKBP Setyo Bimo Anggoro in Bengkalis, Riau, Thursday, September 14, confiscated by Antara.
When it was discovered that they had fled from Bengkalis Prison in the early hours of Wednesday, September 13, the police immediately gave chase and mapped the escape area.
Then information was found from the public the characteristics of a man suspected of being a prisoner wearing a singlet t-shirt and shorts around the Pramuka Street area.
"We also thank the people who have helped a lot and provided information in the search for the escaped prisoner," said Bimo.

Syamsul Arifin is currently at the Bengkalis Police Satreskrim for processing according to applicable regulations. After that, it will be handed over to Bengkalis Prison for guidance.
Head of Bengkalis Class II A Prison, Muhamad Lukman, added that he would impose strict sanctions on prisoners who tried to escape from the detention center.
"Napi Escapes from prisons will receive additional punishment and also training is carried out in cell strap areas," said Kalapas.
Previously, it was reported that a Bengkalis Class II A prison inmate escaped from detention room in block C, Wednesday, September 13 at around 03.00 WIB. The prisoner was sentenced to five years in prison in a vehicle theft case and has served a sentence of about eight months.
