TNI Commander: Military Prisons Are Much More Angker Than General Prisons

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Laksama Yudo Margono revealed that the Military Correctional Institution (Lemasmil) is far more "angker" and intolerant of the General Correctional Institution (Lapas).

"So far, many people may not know that the military also has a Military Correctional Institution that is far worse than public prisons. Lemasmil is famous for "angker" in deterring soldiers who have dealt with this institution," said Yudo Margono when receiving a grant of 6 ambulances from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) at Plaza TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.

The handover was carried out by the Executive Vice President of BRI, M. Choliq accompanied by Vice President Riza Pahlevi to the Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Admiral TNI Kresno Buntoro, witnessed by the TNI Commander and TNI Headquarters top officials.

According to the plan, 6 BRI aid ambulances will be distributed to 6 Lemasmil spread throughout Indonesia, namely in Medan, Cimahi, Surabaya, Makasar, Banjar Baru and Jayapura.

"On behalf of TNI soldiers, I would like to thank the President Director of BRI, the dim ana 6 ambulance units will be handed over to the Babinkum TNI which will later be used in Military Correctional Institutions spread throughout Indonesia to strengthen humanitarian tasks," said Yudo Margono.

Meanwhile, the Executive Vice President of BRI, M. Choliq who represented the President Director of BRI expressed his gratitude, BRI has been accepted as a partner to support the operation of the TNI.

"We are also determined to increase our cooperation, we hope that these 6 ambulance units will have a positive impact on TNI soldiers, we also want to prove that the TNI and BRI will always synergize," he concluded.
