Wait For The PKS Syuro Council To Decide On The Vice Presidential Candidate, Anies Baswedan Spokesperson: Hopefully The Results Are As Expected

Spokesperson for Anies Baswedan, Sudirman Said, hopes that the results of the PKS Shura assembly's deliberation will determine Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as a vice presidential candidate who will be supported in the 2024 presidential election.

It is known, since the Anies-Cak Imin pair was declared in Surabaya on September 2, PKS has not stated its support for the PKB General Chair.

PKS was also not present at the declaration event until it was absent from the coalition's inaugural meeting which was held at NasDem Tower, Wednesday, September 6.

"We are grateful for the positive dynamics between political parties that are continuing. Of course there is a new configuration, namely the entry of the National Awakening Party. There is a PKS process that is ongoing, namely waiting for the shuro assembly meeting," said Sudirman during a press conference in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, September 8.

Sudirman said that overall there was positive communication among the supporting political parties, namely NasDem, PKB and PKS.

"We all pray that the PKS syuro assembly deliberation can be carried out in the near future and run smoothly resulting in a decision as we expected," continued Sudirman.

Sudirman also said that his party respects the political stance of the Democratic Party which has revoked support for Anies as a presidential candidate and left the coalition of changes.

"But we also still have the hope that we can continue to work together on the national agenda as has been conveyed by AHY and also Mr. Anies Baswedan," said Sudirman.

"We are grateful for these two young figures to convey a good and soothing message that shows maturity and maturity in politics," added Sudirman.

For information, the number of joint party seats or votes that carry the Anies-Cak Imin pair, namely the NasDem party, PKS and PKB, has met the requirements, namely 37,724 million votes or the equivalent of 24 percent. As a seat acquisition of 167 seats or equivalent to 29 percent of the seats in the DPR.
