Vice President Ma'ruf Amin On Cak Imin's Examination: Hopefully This Is Purely A Legal Problem

PADANG - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that the examination by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of Muhaimin Iskandar, as Minister of Manpower for the 2009-2014 period, is purely an effort to enforce the law and not because of politicization elements.

"Hopefully this is purely a legal problem," said Ma'ruf Amin on the sidelines of the 2023 World Islamic Entrepreneur Summit (WIES) in Padang City, West Sumatra, reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.

According to Ma'ruf Amin, during the examination of the deputy chairman of the DPR, it was purely due to legal problems, so there was no problem. He hopes there will be no political content in the case.

"So I don't think there is a problem, which is a problem if there is politicization in it," said Ma'ruf Amin.

If there is an element of politicization, he added, then reactions from the community could arise.

Meanwhile, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri dismissed the narrative accusing him of political content in the examination of Muhaimin Iskandar as a witness in the 2012 alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).

Firli said that Muhaimin was summoned by investigators to be questioned as a witness in the alleged corruption case committed by the suspects.

He emphasized that the KPK works with the principles of criminal procedural law and always upholds the principles of carrying out its main duties as an anti-corruption agency.
