Audi Plans To Present The Last Surprise From R8

JAKARTA - Through a post on Instagram, Audi announced that there would be "something special" from R8. The special debut that Audi claims as the last edition will take place on September 12.

It is known, this car is a wide selection of world celebrities, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Robert Goryo Jr., to Simon Cowell.

In the picture they share, you can see an R8 wrapped in a distinctive red, black, and silver block pattern. There is also a small spoiler with the Audi Sport brand on the back. From what Audi showed, this model doesn't look significantly different from the previous version.

Quoted from Motor1, September 7, Audi did not keep it a secret about plans to stop production of R8 in 2024 in the United States. They even produced Audi R8 GT for US$251,395 or around Rp. 3.8 billion which will only be sold in limited quantities, namely 150 units in the United States.

This Instagram post hints that there may be some more exclusive vehicles. However, no specific details are currently available.

The future of R8 is very uncertain. There are rumors about Audi developing an electric version. However, the new model may have a completely different look. Most likely, this car will share a platform with an EV 718 Boxster replacement.
