Komnas HAM Will Meet With The TNI Commander Regarding The Case Of Paspampres Persons
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) said it would meet with the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono to communicate further regarding the murder case involving unscrupulous members of Paspampres.
"We certainly hope that not only will our communication with the Jaya Pomdam (Military Police), but maybe for the above, if there is a possibility, we will ask to meet with the TNI Commander later," said Deputy Chairman of the External Division of Komnas HAM Abdul Haris Semendawai as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 1.
He said the case could not only be seen as a small event because the incident had received great public attention.
"A number of community alliances that care about this case, come to visit to convey their aspirations to Komnas HAM," he said.
Therefore, said Abdul, Komnas HAM wanted to further collect data to investigate the case. He said his party assessed that the information regarding the case was still confusing.
"For example, the data we have obtained recently, for example, there is information that the victim has been kidnapped twice," he said.
Abdul said that his party had carried out field monitoring to examine several witnesses. Komnas HAM will confirm with related parties, both in Jakarta and in Aceh, the victim's hometown.
"There are also plans to make a request for information to the Pomdam Jaya, Polda Metro Jaya, (and) RSPAD (Army Central Hospital) to confirm the incident," said Abdul.
To ensure protection for witnesses and victims' families, he said, Komnas HAM cooperated with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).
"Because after all, the victim's family is in contact with an institution, especially since this is the TNI, of course there are concerns," he said.
Meanwhile, Komnas HAM Supervision Commissioner Uli Parulian Sihombing detailed that his party had examined 13 witnesses around Rempoa, South Tangerang, Banten, where the victims usually sell.
"Komnas has been monitoring since the beginning. This week we have marathonly examined 13 witnesses around Rempoa and conducted site visits," said Uli.

Uli said Komnas HAM had communicated with the victim's family and would meet the victim's family in Bireuen, Aceh.
"Then, we communicated with the victim's family and planned to go to Bireuen with LPSK to ask for further information," he said.
Previously, three members of the Indonesian Army were suspected of kidnapping and molesting a young man from Aceh named Imam Masykur (25 years) to death.
The victim is a cosmetic shop keeper in the Rempoa area, South Tangerang. He was allegedly kidnapped by the perpetrators on Saturday around the shop. The perpetrators had claimed to be police when kidnapping the victim.
The victim's family had reported the kidnapping and torture of Imam to the Polda Metro Jaya. The report was received by the police with the Number STTLP/B/4776/VIII/2023/SPKT.
The soldiers suspected of being involved in the case are currently being detained by Pomdam Jaya. One of the perpetrators with the initials Praka RM is a member of the Indonesian Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres), while the other two perpetrators are Praka O (a member of the Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command) and another soldier is a member of the Topographic Directorate of the Indonesian Army.
