Basuki Hadimuljono: JCC Renovation Is Over, Ready To Hold The ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the arrangement and renovation of the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) for the location for the 43rd ASEAN Summit (KTT) has been completed.

"The arrangement and renovations have all been completed," said Basuki, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 1.

Basuki added that he had reviewed the arrangement and renovation of the JCC which had been completed by the Ministry of PUPR, so that the location could be used as a venue for the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

"I have visited there and (JCC) can be used as a location for the ASEAN Summit," he said.

The Ministry of PUPR provides full support in the implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit through the provision of infrastructure.

The JCC renovation has been carried out by the Ministry of PUPR through the Jakarta Metro Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW), the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Cipta Karya since June 12, 2023. The cost of handling the JCC comes from the APBN worth IDR 115.88 billion.

JCC rehabilitation work consists of 4 Zones, namely Zone 1 (Lower Ground) including the architectural work of Kasuari Lounge, Merak Room, Nuri Room, Maleo Room, Kenari Room, Kakatua Room, Lower Lobby Pre Function, Summit Room, Summit Lounge, walkway to Sultan Hotel, prayer room and toilet.

Zone 2 (Ground Floor) consists of the architectural work of Assembly Hall, Main Lobby, Cendrawasih Hall and Corridor, Prefunction Hall A, as well as VIP Room and toilet (Cendrawasih). Zone 3 (Ground) consists of handling the plenary hall and corridor as well as the regional president.

Finally, Zone 4 (Ground) in the form of canopy installations, drop off arrangement, front gardens, side parks, toilets, and outdoor prayer rooms.

JCC Renovation has a main design concept by adopting elements of Indonesian culture that can reflect the character and identity of the Indonesian nation. The Directorate General of Human Settlements added instruments that describe Indonesia's diversity, such as synthetic rattan wrap, paded wall, and carpet.
