Latest Data On The Ngawi Bus Accident Eka Fast-Sugeng Rahayu: 3 People Died, 14 People Injured

NgaWI - Ngawi Police Chief AKBP Argo Wiyono conveyed data on victims who died as a result of an accident between Eka Bus and Sugeng Rahayu Bus on the Magetan-Ngawi route, Tambakromo Village, Geneng District, Ngawi Regency, East Java, as many as three people.

"The last report, a total of three people died," said AKBP Argo to reporters while leading the crime scene at the location as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.

The dead victims were the two bus drivers, namely Catur, Eka Bus driver, Agus Susanto, Bus driver Sugeng Rahayu, and a pedestrian.

Meanwhile, the injured victims reached 14 people who came from the passengers of the two buses. This corrected the previous news which stated that there were four victims who died.

"The injured victims have now received treatment at the Geneng Hospital and Soeroto Ngawi Hospital," said the Police Chief.

Meanwhile, two bus carcasses that crossed the Jalu Magetan-Ngawi road have been successfully transferred to the side of the road. The two vehicles are still around the location because the officers are in the process of processing the crime scene (TKP).

As for the condition of the injured victims who were hospitalized, some of the victims improved, but some victims were reported to have serious injuries.

The police are also still asking for statements from a number of witnesses from bus passengers for the process of investigating the traffic accident case.

Bus Eka Cepat with Bus Sugeng Rahayu had an accident on the Magetan-Ngawi route, precisely in Tambakromo Village, Geneng District, Ngawi Regency, East Java at around 05.40 WIB which left three people dead and dozens injured.

The accident began when Eka Bus, driven by Catur, a resident of Boyolali, Central Java, drove quickly from Ngawi to Magetan. Arriving at the scene, the bus bound for Yogyakarta-Surabaya was about to avoid pedestrians.

The bus had swerved, right from the opposite direction driving Sugeng Rahayu Bus driven by Agus Susanto, a resident of Blitar, East Java, at high speed and until the collision was unavoidable.

The hard collision caused both buses to fall so that their bodies were damaged. The driver of Sugeng Rahayu was even thrown out of the bus and died.

Meanwhile, the Eka Bus driver died after being caught in the front body of a wrecked bus. Meanwhile, a pedestrian crossing was also reported to have died as a result of the incident.
