53 Drug Case Suspects In Sidoarjo Arrested By Police
SIDOARJO - Polresnarkoba Satres officers Sidoarjo and Polsek ranks arrested 53 suspects with 45 cases during the Semeru 2023 drug tumpas operation in the local jurisdiction.
Sidoarjo Police Chief Kombes Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro said the Semeru 2023 drug trap operation was carried out from 14 to 25 August 2023.
"Officers also confiscated several pieces of evidence, such as narcotics of methamphetamine weighing 972.67 grams, dangerous hard drugs as many as 250,190 pills, transaction facilities in the form of 40 cell phones, one four-wheeled vehicle, 11 units of two-wheeled vehicles, one electric scale and cash amounting to Rp2.2 million," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 29.
He said that during the arrest there were four suspects who had been designated by officers as targets of drug operation.
"First, the suspect was SDR with evidence of 100,000 double pills, two white plastic sacks, Rp251,000 in cash, one cell phone and one motorcycle duck," he said.
The second case, with the suspect AGP with evidence in the form of a plastic package containing methamphetamine weighing around 720 grams, Rp450,000 in cash, two cell phones and a white Honda Brio car.

Third, with suspect ARD with evidence of one plastic methamphetamine of 7.91 grams, a set of suction devices, a plastic straw and a motorcycle.
The fourth case, with the suspect MA with evidence, was a plastic package containing around 16.15 grams of methamphetamine, a set of suction devices along with a glass pipette and two cell phones.
The suspect found to be carrying a dangerous hard drug has violated Article 435 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 17 of 2023 concerning health carries a penalty of 12 years in prison.
"Meanwhile, those who commit acts of narcotics trafficking and psychotropic abuse are subject to Article 112 paragraph (2) imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for a maximum of 12 years," he said.
The police chief emphasized that drug trafficking and abuse are common enemies.
"We are not selective, indiscriminately, if it is known about this, of course we will take firm action," he said.
