Improve Air Quality, Ganjar Asks People To Be Environmentally Aware

YOGYAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked all people everywhere to be aware of environmental conditions, especially air conditions. For this reason, he invited all elements of society to contribute to protecting the environment so that air quality would be much better.

"Everything must now be more aware, wherever it is in Indonesia. I think there are many stories that we can do, but we are decision makers, we are the community, we must contribute so that then we can both maintain environmental conditions so that air quality is much better," said Ganjar while in Yogyakarta, Wednesday 23 August.

Some things that must be done immediately include the energy transition. This energy transition can be done by starting to use new and renewable energy (EBT), such as solar power or other energy sources.

"Energy transition must be carried out immediately. Restrictions on very dense areas with special wabil motorized vehicles that use fossil-based vehicles must be immediately regulated," he said.

The movement to use EBT has begun by Ganjar Pranowo in Central Java. For example, in government buildings, they have started using solar panels for electrical energy.

He also continues to encourage increased use of alternative energy sources besides fossils. For example, the use of swamp gas in several villages or areas in Central Java. The results have so far also been satisfactory because the swamp gas is able to suppress public spending on electricity and LPG gas.

The thing that is no less important is of course reforestation in debarred areas. Also increasing green open places. In this case, Ganjar on various occasions visits to the regions always reminds residents to always grow trees.

"Of course the reforestation of areas that today need to be barren also needs to be done, city parks, and so on," he said.

The reforestation can also be done with breakthroughs such as technology or the works of architects. For example, in buildings, they start implementing or planting plants that are able to absorb carbon.

"Now there are actually too many technologies including the works of architects in which buildings are now also planted with plants that can beautified as well as absorb more carbon," said Ganjar.
