BNN Destroys 1.2 Hectares Of Cannabis Field Findings Of BRIN Drones
BANDA ACEH - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) destroyed a 1.2 hectare harvest-ready marijuana field in North Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, as reported by the findings of an unmanned aircraft from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
Acting Director of Narcotics at BNN KombesGuntur Aryo Tejo directly led the destruction of the marijuana field at an altitude of 199 meters above sea level (masl) in Blang Manyak Village, Sawang District, North Aceh.
"Based on the findings that were followed up with the investigation process by the team in the field, as many as 11,000 trees with heights ranging from 20 to 250 centimeters were successfully destroyed," said Guntur in North Aceh as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 21.
He said the marijuana field was the result of the BNN team's findings from unmanned aircraft activities (PTTA) in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
According to him, the entire destroyed cannabis plant weighs up to 5 tons and the distance between plants ranges from 50 to 100 centimeters.

The destruction also involved 122 joint team personnel consisting of BNN, BNN Lhokseumawe City, Polri/TNI, Satpol PP, District Attorney's Office, Customs and local Agriculture Service.
According to Guntur, the destruction of the cannabis field in Blang Manyak Village was carried out in accordance with Article 111 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics.
"It is stated that it is related to the prohibition of planting, maintaining, storing, controlling, or providing class one marijuana narcotics with a maximum threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment," he said.
