Dewi Noor 1 Ship Sinks, Ministry Of Transportation Deploys KPLP Patrol Vessels To Search For Three Missing Victims
JAKARTA - The Dewi Noor 1 Motorboat (KM) had an accident in the waters of the Thousand Islands, DKI Jakarta. As a result, a family of three people disappeared because the ship sank.
Before the accident occurred, the ship contained 15 passengers. A total of 10 passengers managed to survive and were evacuated by the joint SAR Team.
The Ministry of Transportation of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation through the Marine and Coast Guard Unit (KPLP) participated in the search for victims by deploying KPLP patrol boats.
"KPLP has responded quickly to this situation by sending an evacuation and SAR team to the scene," said Director of KPLP Rivolindo in Jakarta, Sunday, August 20.
Rivolindo explained that KM Dewi Noor 1 departed from Mutiara Beach for Sepa Island. However, on the way to Sepa Island, the ship had an accident and was threatened with sinking at the coordinates of 5°54'371"S - 106°42'100"E, between East Untung Island Java and Pari Island.
"In this rescue effort, one victim was declared dead, three people have not been found, and eleven people managed to survive, one of whom is sick," he said.

KPLP, continued Rivolindo, together with other institutions continue to actively search for the three people who have not been found.
"We continue to strive to find the three victims who have not been found. The KPLP ship is still continuing its search around the scene.
