Solmet And KNPI: Will Not Disrupt The Declaration Of Presidential Candidates, Wait For Jokowi's Directives

JAKARTA - The Red and White Solidarity Volunteer Organization (Solmet) and the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) stated that they agreed perpendicularly with President Joko Widodo in supporting the 2024 Presidential Candidate (Capres). The General Chairperson of Solmet Silfester Matina said that his party would not rush to declare a supported presidential candidate. Moreover, currently there is no candidate pair and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) as well as a definite coalition of political parties (parpol). Solmet and KNPI agreed that they would not be rash and rushed to declare in favor of a particular presidential candidate, apart from the current new in the presidential candidate stage, there is also no definitive vice presidential candidate, as well as the existing coalition of parties is still not solid," said Silfester in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, August 19. Towards the deadline for registering presidential-cawapres on November 25, 2023, Silfester said that his party would observe track records, vision, mission, and commitment of candidates. Including, discussing and asking for directions from President Jokowi because he certainly understands who the presidential or vice presidential candidates are needed in Indonesia and is able to overcome the world situation that is not doing well,' he added. He said he did not want to support the presidential candidate because it would later have an impact on Indonesia. He avoided the presidential candidate who wanted to perpetuate the oligarchies of political parties, black entrepreneurs, and foreign powers.

Menurutnya, rakyat Indonesia membutuhkan pasangan capres-cawapres yang menaruh hati untuk rakyat, serta memiliki watak pemberani yang tidak didikte oleh pihak mana pun. Di samping itu,sosok yang mampu membawa Indonesia menjadi negara maju dan mampu melewati situasi global yang tidak menentu.“Tentunya sebagai organisasi resmi yang mempunyai AD/ART dan terdaftar di lembaran negara, maka kami mempunyai mekanisme tersendiri yang tidak bisa dipengaruhi siapa pun, kecuali Presiden Jokowi atau hanya mengikuti euforia semata hasil pencitraan capres yang palsu,” ucapnya.Sementara itu, Ketua Umum KNPI Ilyas Indra mengatakan bahwa pihaknya menginginkan pasangan capres-cawapres yang mampu melanjutkan program Jokowi. Hal tersebut, kata dia, untuk kepentingan rakyat dan mencapai Indonesia Emas 2045."KNPI sepemahaman dengan Solmet. Kami akan mendukung capres-cawapres yang bisa melanjutkan pembangunan dan program Presiden Jokowi di berbagai bidang kehidupan,” kata Ilyas.
