Solmet And KNPI: Will Not Disrupt The Declaration Of Presidential Candidates, Wait For Jokowi's Directives
JAKARTA - The Red and White Solidarity Volunteer Organization (Solmet) and the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) stated that they agreed perpendicularly with President Joko Widodo in supporting the 2024 Presidential Candidate (Capres). The General Chairperson of Solmet Silfester Matina said that his party would not rush to declare a supported presidential candidate. Moreover, currently there is no candidate pair and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) as well as a definite coalition of political parties (parpol). Solmet and KNPI agreed that they would not be rash and rushed to declare in favor of a particular presidential candidate, apart from the current new in the presidential candidate stage, there is also no definitive vice presidential candidate, as well as the existing coalition of parties is still not solid," said Silfester in a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, August 19. Towards the deadline for registering presidential-cawapres on November 25, 2023, Silfester said that his party would observe track records, vision, mission, and commitment of candidates.
