Minister Of Health: The 2024 Health Budget Is 5.6 Percent Of The State Budget
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the 2024 health budget was set at 5.6 percent of the APBN or an 8.1 percent increase compared to 2023.
"With the increase in the budget, of course, it will be homework for the Ministry of Health to immediately complete the targets of the President, especially to carry out promotive and preventive programs, namely to keep the community from falling ill," said Budi Gunadi Sadikin in a statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.
He said the government was committed to increasing its health budget, as part of efforts to create healthy and productive human resources.
For 2024, the health budget is planned at IDR 186.4 trillion or 5.6 percent of the state budget. That number increased by 8.1 percent or the equivalent of IDR 13.9 trillion, compared to this year's budget.
Budi said, Indonesia is one of the countries that has succeeded in dealing with the health crisis and restoring the economy quickly and well after the severe shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Economic growth over the past seven quarters, since the end of 2021, Budi said, has consistently been above 5.0 percent. Fast and strong economic recovery has brought Indonesia to class, re-entering the high-middle-income country group in 2022.
"Alhamdulillah, Indonesia has succeeded in overcoming the big challenges caused by the pandemic with good results," he said.
