PKB Can Be Threatened With The Presence Of Golkar And PAN In Prabowo, There Is Still Time To Find A New Coalition
Political observer Yudha Kurniawan assessed that the position of the National Awakening Party could be threatened after the presence of support for Golkar and PAN to Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
The presence of Golkar and PAN affected the consensus of 'Political Cooperation' known as the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR).
The KKIR Charter is known to be the initial foothold for the Gerindra coalition and PKB in facing the 2024 General Election. One of the consensus is that the vice presidential candidate who will be chosen to accompany Prabowo must of course be approved by Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), as the Head of PKB.
"The entry of new participating parties in the KKIR Coalition has begun to have an influence on the political consensus that has been achieved by Gerindra-PK," said Yudha, Wednesday, August 16.
Yudha said that after the declaration of Golkar and PAN, there was also a narrative about the debate over the new name of the coalition, the affirmation of the position of PKB in determining the vice presidential candidate, and the direction of the grand tent coalition going forward.
"For PKB, with the entry of other parties into the coalition, there is a need to reinforce the KKIR Charter as the initial foundation of the coalition. This is part of an effort to ensure a large bargaining value for the position of PKB in the coalition in determining the direction of the coalition in the future," he said.

Furthermore, Yudha said that the quick support for Prabowo was of course full of various political interests from election parties considering the approaching time of the election.
"After the declaration of support, it has not seen the attitude of other parties related to the KKIR Charter. Here the role of the Gerindra party is also very important to encourage other parties to respect the KKIR charter," said Yudha.
In addition, in political dynamics, Yudha assessed that of course various possibilities could occur, including re-calibrating the consensus of the political coalition.
"There are two things that Prabowo's supporting coalition parties may be able to take; first, re-calibrate the KKIR Charter without negating the role of PKB as the initial coalition and of course the second, it is not too late for PKB to build new consensus with the old coalition; PDI-P or Democrats," he said.
More than that, Yudha reminded that the coalition between Gerindra-PKB is a new history for both parties. PKB actually has a long history with two other parties which are likely to become competitors in the upcoming 2024 General Election, namely the PDI-P and the Democrats.
There are several views that this fat coalition or big tent will complicate the distribution of political work if in the future this coalition wins the election. Not to mention other issues that may arise in the government's travel process, namely the distribution of power," said Yudha.
